Randy Wootton is chief executive officer for Rocket Fuel. He is an accomplished SaaS and advertising industry leader with a proven track record scaling global businesses for some of the world’s most admired technology companies. He leads Rocket Fuel’s mission to drive marketing ROI for customers by scoring every moment in the marketing journey.
Randy joined Rocket Fuel as chief revenue officer in March 2015 and was named CEO in November 2015. As chief revenue officer, he dramatically expanded the company’s sales pipeline, invigorated its direct sales approach, and actively contributed to the development of Rocket Fuel’s long-term strategy.
Prior to joining Rocket Fuel, Wootton served as VP of customer success for products at Salesforce.com where he drove the company’s Customer Success Product Portfolio P&L from under $200 million to almost $500 million in three years. Prior to Salesforce.com, Randy spent seven years at Microsoft in various senior level and general management roles. He led cross-functional operations for the Global Search Services and Online Marketplace where he operationalized Microsoft’s “Search Alliance” agreement with Yahoo!. He also exceeded a $1.6 billion annual target for Microsoft as the U.S. head of Specialist Sales, and he supported $1.8 billion in 39 countries for enterprise display and search clients as general manager of Microsoft’s Premium Services Operations. In addition, Wootton served as senior vice president at AdReady and ran aQuantive’s AtlasDMT’s international division.
Wootton holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy, a Master of Arts in the Liberal Arts from St. John’s College, and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
