Rocket Fuel’s chief architect, Abhijit Pol, returned to speak at the annual Hadoop Summit in San Jose, CA on June 3-5, 2014. Apache Hadoop is an open-source software platform that enables petabyte-scale complex and structured data sets to be processed and analyzed in near real-time. Thousands of tech professionals attended the event to discuss how to best utilize Hadoop to harness the exponential growth in data and information. Rocket Fuel is the only programmatic advertising technology company to present at the Hadoop Summit over multiple years.
Rocket Fuel’s CTO, Mark Torrance, spoke at VentureBeat’s DataBeat event in San Francisco on May 19, 2014. Mark’s panel, “Data Driving Ad Targeting and Personalization,” discussed how to best utilize first and third-party data to provide agencies and marketers with new levels of scale and relevance. This year’s DataBeat brought together more than 80 data visionaries who shared new case studies, insights, and strategies designed to help attendees leverage big data and smart analytics tools to increase profitability.
Rocket Fuel co-founders George John (CEO), and Abhinav Gupta (VP of Engineering), both spoke at the TiECon event in Santa Clara on May 17, 2014. The two leaders addressed the subject of “How to Effectively Manage Your Company’s Growth,” a conversation that drew upon their experience founding and growing Rocket Fuel. TiECon is one of the largest entrepreneurship conferences in the world, attracting thousands of attendees from 50 different countries.

The trio presented as part of the Case Studies Track, “Blackbird: Storing Billions of Rows a Couple of Milliseconds Away,” discussing the system they built on top of HBase that makes billions of rich, anonymous user profiles available for real-time advertising decisions via Rocket Fuel’s artificial intelligence platform.
